Correlation Between Expression Of COX-2 And Prognosis In Liposarcoma

Objective: The expression of COX-2 protein in different pathological and clinical stages of liposarcoma and paracancerous tissues was determined by immunohistochemical method.To discuss the significance of COX-2 in clinical stage,pathological differentiation and prognosis and its correlation of liposarcoma.Methods: We selected 62 patients with liposarcoma treated by surgery in Hunan Cancer Hospital between 2012-2013,collected their medical records and tissue samples.The tissues of liposarcoma and non-cancerous tissue adjacent to tumor were stained with COX-2 immunohistochemical,combined with clinical data(age,tumor location,size,pathological type,clinical stage,recurrence,3-year and 5-year survival rate),the data were accomplished by SPSS 22.0?GraphPad Prism7.0 statistical software.Results: Immunohistochemical results showed that the expression of COX-2 in liposarcoma tissues was significantly higher than that in noncancerous tissues adjacent to liposarcoma,and was positively correlated with the clinical stage,recurrence rate and death risk of liposarcoma,and negatively correlated with the degree and type of differentiation and survival rate.Conclusion: Through this research,we explored the correlation between COX-2 and liposarcoma,and proved that COX-2 may be related to the occurrence,development,invasion,recurrence and prognosis of liposarcoma.It has the value of diagnosis,prevention and prognosis in liposarcoma patients.It is expected to become a tumor marker with clinical significance.
