Object iveThe study uses the clinical small sample randomized controlled studies, to evaluate the curative effect of using the bleeding ang cupping therapy in treating insomnia of the stagnation of the liver qi with pathogenic heat syndrome, discuss the feasibility and effectiveness of the study, and sum up an effective acupuncture treatment. So as to facilitate the application and promotion of this therapy.MethodsThe research cases are from the first and second affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine who visits the clinic of acupuncture and moxibustion in April2011to April2012clinic and meets the eligibilities. The60patients were randomly divided into two groups, the treatment group and the control group, each30cases. The observation index including:the clinical symptoms, signs, the scores of the TCM syndroms and the PSQI rating. So as to scale and assess the clinical curative effect of the study, according to the PSQI rating. The data was statistic and analysed by the SPSS17. Osoftware.ResuItsThis research studies in60patients with insomnia, which are of the type of the stagnation of the liver qi with pathogenic heat syndrome. Among the treatment group, there are12male and18female, with an average age of40.70±8.52years, an average course of disease of1.80±0.99years, PSQI rating of14.23±2.45; Among the control group, there are11male,19female, with an average age of38.88±8.14years, an average course of1.72±1.03years, PSQI raing of14.20±2.21. In the analysis of the comparability in the baseline characteristics, there were no statistically significant difference(P>0.05)between two groups in some aspects of the age, gender, course of disease, the PSQ] before given treatment and the score of the TCM syndroms. Two groups were comparable. In the assessment of all ingredients in PSQI, including six parts, such an the sleep quality, sleep latency, length of sleet, sleep efficiency, sleep disorders, daytime dysfunction. After two course of treatmengt, by comparing the differences of two groups about before and after treatment, are comparable and statistically significant(P<0.01), indicating that both groups can obviously improve the sleep of patients. By the comparison between two groups, the treatment group was more effective than the control group, in aspects of the sleep quality, sleep latency, sleep time and daytime dysfunction. There was on significant difference in other parts, indicating that two groups had similar curative effect in these parts. In the TCM syndromes, the two groups was not statistically significant comparable(P>0.05)before treatment. After treatment, there were significant difference of two groups(P<0.01), improving that the two groups had obvious curative effect in relieving the symptoms of TCM syndromes; The comparison between two groups was statistically significant different(P<0.01), the treatment group was more effective. In the general clinical curative effect, there are7recovered in30patients in the treatment group,16significantly improved,5worked,2invalid, the total effective clinicalrate was93.33%; In the control group,5healed,10significantly improved,9worked,6invalid, the total effective clinical rate is80.00%. In the comparison of the total effective clinical rate of two groups, the difference was not statistically significant. But the total effective clinical rate of the treatment group was higher than in the control group, it could be considered that the curative effect in treating insomnia, the treatment group was better than the control group.ConelusionAccording to the above results of the research, preliminary proved that using the bleeding and cupping therapy on sihua points crucially in treating insomnia of the liver qi with pathogenic heat syndrome was better than the therapy of only using the acupuncture. And the treatment could better ease the sleep quality, and improve the work efficiency during the day time.
