ObjectiveThis clinical control study aims to observe the clinical curative effect of Irregular Menstruation Cycle (IMC) of liver stasis and kidney deficiency by modified Decoction for Irregular Menstruation recorded in Fu Qing-Zhu' s Obstetrics and Gynecology, observe the improvement of clinical symptoms, compare the difference in symptoms after and before treatment and find the advantage of this prescription in menstruation adjustment.MethodsThe subjects are64IMC patients of liver stasis and kidney deficiency treated in Taiwan Lihong Huang's TCM Gynecology Clinic from March to October2011who are classified into2groups randomly.32subjects are in the Treatment Group and32in the Control Group. The Treatment Group patients are treated with modified Decoction for Irregular Menstruation. Regimen:1dose a day and the medicine is decocted in warm water. Patients start the oral intake of medicine after the menstruation cycle and until the next menstruation onset for3consecutive menstruation cycles. The Control Group patients are treated with modified Decoction for Reinforcing yin. Regimen:1dose a day and the medicine is decocted in warm water. Patients start the oral intake of medicine after the menstruation cycle and until the next menstruation onset for3consecutive menstruation cycles. Make clinical records of IMC of liver stasis and kidney deficiency with TCM Syndrome Scale and index examination results.Evaluate the clinical curative efficacy from the menstruation cycles, menstruation volume and clinical syndromes. Evaluate the safety from blood, urine, stool, cardiogram and liver and kidney function.Results The study has64qualified subjects.with32in the Treatment Group and32in the Control Group.The total effective rate of the TreatmentGroup is better than that of the ControlGroup. TThere's significant difference between two groups'total curative effect and the Treatment Group is superior to the Control Group.Treatment Group:the recovery rate is84.38%, the excellenceis9.38%, the effective rate is3.13%, the total effective rate is96.8%; the Control Group recoveryrate is68.75%, the excellence rate is9.38%, and the effective rate is9.38%, the total effective rate is87.5%. Two groups'comparison, demonstrates significant difference.Comparing two groups'curative effect, the author finds significant difference, and in terms of the curative effect, the Treatment Group is better than the Control Group.The Treatment Group the recovery rate is90.63%, the excellence is3.13%, the effective rate is3.13%, and the total effective rate is96.9%; the Control Group:the recoveryrate is75%, the excellence is9.38%, the effective rate is6.25%, and the total effective rate is90.6%. Two groups'comparison shows significantly differencet.Comparing two groups'improvement degree of TCM symptoms, the author finds significant difference and the Treatment Group is superior to the Control Group.In terms of TCM symptoms related to liver stasis and kidney deficiency includingirregular menstruation cycle, abnormal menstruation volume, dizziness, tinnitus, sore waist and weak knees, hyposexuality, abnormal menstruation color, blood clots in menstruation, sighing, chest and pain, chest distress, breast pain, irritability, abnormal BBT, ect, the Treatment Group has higher improvement rate than the than Control Group and there's statistical significance (P<0.05).ConclusionThe Decoction for Irregular Menstruation can reinforce the kidney, sooth the liver, remove stasis and adjust menstruation. It can effectively improve the major clinical symptoms and regulate the function of the kidney, liver and spleen. It has good curative effect in the treatment of IMC of liver stasis and kidney deficiency and it has clinical application security.
