In most hemodynamic theories, the artery is treated as pathway of blood flow. However the heart has an output power of only 1.7 watt. It is hard to believe that with this small power, as well as the heart faces the large resistance of the arterial system, it can still distribute the blood to the whole body.Since the elastic potential energy occupies more than 98% of mechanical energy in the aorta, which is much larger than the 2% of the kinetic energy of flowing blood, the resonance theory treats the arterial system as a pressure-wave-transmitting system. The heart pushes the blood into the aorta, and the blood collides on the vessel wall of the ascending aorta arch to generate pulse pressure. This pulse pressure is transmitted to the microcirculatory region along the artery, and pushes the blood into the capillary network through small openings of the arteriole. The organic vascular beds resonate with the heartbeat to further improve the transmission efficiency of the pressure wave. The analysis in spectral domain provides further insight into the relation between disease and the arterial pulse. As for spectral domain analysis, based on the theory of organ resonance, the authenticity and scientific basis of diagnosis by the arterial pulse diagnosis in traditional medical have been proved, as well as makes the harmonic analysis of pulse wave have the significance of theory, and have make progress in a series of experimental studies. The main contents of this paper include:1).Research of the principle of arterial system blood circulation. The weakness of blood circulation theory proposed by western medicine, The advantage of blood circulation theory proposed by traditional Chinese medicine are both discussed. Then discuss the new method of pulse harmonic analysis based on blood circulation resonance theory.2).Derivation and comparison of flow theory and resonance theory. Firstly analyze the inadequacies of the Windkessel model, Poiseuille equation, Moens-Korteweg equation, and Womersley equation. And then study the derivation of radial resonance theory and the theoretical solution. The result shows that resonance theory fits realistic physiological structure of the cardiovascular system better.3).Design and implementation of a human pulse signal acquisition and processing system. Complete system hardware design and software development. System hardware includes pulse sensor, signal conditioning, analog-digital conversion, USB communications and so on. The software based on Labview platform. Then remove the noise of pulse wave based on the wavelet transform method.4).Experimental study of the influence of fasting on the harmonics of human pulse wave. By analyzing the harmonic change of human radial artery pulse wave under the condition of fasting and diet recovery, to study the case of the human body's physiological response to fasting. Experimental results show that in the process of continuous fasting, the related harmonics of pulse wave do have change:The second harmonic's amplitude of the radial artery pulse increase significantly in fasting, while the sixth harmonic's amplitude of the radial artery pulse decreased significantly. With the resumption of diet, the second and sixth harmonic's amplitude gradually restore to its original level. According to the resonance theory, the harmonic amplitude of pulse wave related to the ratio of blood distribution, these results indicate that in the case of fasting, the human body has a tendency to reallocate blood to adjust the energy distribution of various tissues and organs. As well as Confirmed the authenticity and scientific basis of traditional medicine.
