Objective:By reviewing literatures of hope research to evaluate the level of hope of the maintenance hemodialysis patients and the incidence of anxiety and depression; analyze the effect factors on the level of hope and study the hope level of the patients with anxiety and depression for exploring the correlation of hope level and the status of the anxiety and depression of patients.Methods: One hundred and forty-six participants, who were underway the maintenance hemodialysis,were recruited by convenience in one of 3 armour hospital hospital of Suzhou blood purification center. Four parts of investigation to collect the patients'background material, hope level, anxiety status, and depression status. All the data were put into and analyzed by the statistical software SPSS16.0.Results: The investigation results of hope of the patients with maintenance hemodialysis:①The average score of hope of patient was 32.39±4.59, 97.76% of patients'hope level is medium to higher.②There are main factors that effect hope, such as the dialysis age, educational level, marital status, economic status, and employment situation.③The average score of anxiety and depression of the patients was 53.44±8.25,57.77±7.83, 60.00% of patients with anxiety and 71.43%of patients with depression.④There is significant difference of hope level between the different anxiety level patients (p<0.01), and different depression degree patients (p<0.01).⑤The average score of hope and its items have significant negative correlation between anxiety status and depressed mood (p<0.01); the Spearman correlation coefficients shows that a significant correlation between hope level and the distribution of anxiety and depression; anxiety and depression is the main factor effect one's hope; If the hope level was higher, the anxiety and depression mood was lower.⑥There was a linear regression relation between hope with anxiety and depression, and 61.4% of the difference of hope can be expiation by the change of anxiety and depression.Conclusions: The hope for most of patients was medium to higher level; hope level had a negative relationship with age, dialysis age, economic income, material status and employment status; the amount of patients with anxiety or depression was larger, we should improve this phenonmen; hope had significant correlation and regression relationship with anxiety and depressed mood; the severity of the depression and anxiety can be indirectly reflect the hope condition,and improving one's hope could reduce the anxiety and depressed mood.
