Objective This study aimed to understand the care burden of stroke family caregivers then analysis the problems result from care experience. Based on the result of qualitative research and home nursing knowledge, we made the collaborative nursing intervention and discus the influence of collaborative care intervention for stroke family caregiver on care ability and quality of life.Method 1.Phenomenology method was used .Eighteen caregivers with a family member who was confirmed clinically to suffer stroke in Suzhou were invited to participate in a semi-structured interview individually, and used Colaizzi method to analysis the data. Then made those collaborative care intervention based on the results.2.108family caregivers taken part in this research, and this research lasted 3months. A randomized contrasted trial on the basis of community was carried out. All subjects were divided into intervention and contrast groups at random. Family caregivers were taught about knowledge and skill to deal with negative emotions. The form of intervention included face to face lessons, support program, home visit and telephone interventions. Use SPSS 16.0 to deal with those datas.Result There were two themes: lacking ability on caring for patients and experienced physical and psychological stress. Besides, there were nine sub-themes: lack knowledge about rehabilitation , mystifying the use of medicine, insufficient basic nursing knowledge , the need of health knowledge unsatisfied, experienced physical stress , experienced disturb of routine pace, feel helplessness, rely limitation of social support.Balancing statistical analysis at baseline, overall there were no statistical significant difference between experimental group and contrast group. Evaluation of the intervention outcome, measuring every variable at 1 months and 3 months.(1)Care ability, Care ability showed that both intervention group and contrast group had improvement, however, there were statistical difference between two groups(p<0.05).(2)Care stress: The stress of intervention group is declined as times went on ,but there was little change in contrast group, there were statistical difference between two group (p<0.05).(3)Quality of life. The quality of intervention group is better than the contrast group. There were statistical difference between two group (p<0.05).Conclusion: This study found those family caregivers affected by stroke survivors were under great demands and suffered severe stress. The outcome of the collaborative care intervention which based on the conclusion carried out by community nurse promoted care ability and quality of life. Those results suggest that the collaborative care intervention is useful for stroke family caregivers.
