A Study On The Quality Of Family Care And Influence Factors Of The Family Caregivers Of Disability Elderly

Objective: To describe the present situation of quality of family care of disabled elderly and explore the correlation among Disability elderly family caregivers of care ability, social support and analysis of the relativity of the quality of family; To analyze of family caregivers’ emotional experience and its influence on the quality of family care and analyze the influence factors of the family caregivers of Disability Elderly and provide the basis for improving the quality of family care.Methods: 1.Quantitative study is adopted by cluster sampling. Take the convenience sampling method to extract 200 different degree of disability elderly and their family caregivers as the research object of the questionnaire from six communities. The Questionnaires included two parts:family caregiver part included: ① questionnaire of general demography materials of disability elderly ② Activities of daily living(ADL);disability elderly patients part included: ① questionnaire of general demography materials of family caregivers; ② Family Caregiver Consequences Inventory(FCCI); ④ Family Caregiver Task Inventory(FCTI); ③ social support rating scale(SSRS); Where, SPSS 17.0 for statistical description, t-test, one-way ANOVA analysis, relative analysis and step wise multiple regression analysis are used.2.Qualitative study is adopted by the purpose of sampling, Semi-structured interview outline is used to interview 15 selected family caregivers, The interview outline as follows: ① How do you feel in the process of taking care of ? ② Do you think what changes has happened in your life when you take this job?③what difficulties you have met In the meantime?④ what do you worry about and look forward to the future?⑤What kind of support and help you want?Results 1.The total score of Family Caregiver Consequences Inventory was47.01±5.27, the score of need of water is the highest,followed by Social activities. the score of the integrity of the skin is the highest, followed by the day-lighting of the bedroom and temperature, the patients’ needs of medical treatment.2. Single factor variance analysis results showed that in the aspect of disability elderly the degree of education, economic sources, payment of medical expenses, degree of disability, course of the disease the difference of quality of family care were statistically significant, In the relationship between family caregivers and patients, whether with patients, the average monthly income of family, and take care of the patient’s time the difference of quality of family care were statistically significant.3. The Linear Regression analysis showed Caregivers age, whether living with patients,the average monthly income of family caregivers and patients degree of disability will influence quality of family care.4. The results of Correlation analysis as follow: Family Caregiver Consequences Inventory is negatively correlated with Family Caregiver Task Inventory(FCTI), The total score of Family Caregiver Task Inventory(FCTI) was lower, the less difficulties needed faced in the process of taking care and their quality of family care was more than before;Family Care giving Consequences Inventory is positively related with social support rating scale.5. The extracted theme of family caregivers’ emotional experience in the work from semi-structured interview results includes the sense of responsibility and the family sense of mission, confusion and uncertainty, stress and anxiety, and satisfaction.Conclusion:1.The total score of Family Caregiver Consequences Inventory belongs medium level, The necessary measures should be taken to improve the quality of family care.2.The influencing factors included by degree of education of disability elderly,economic sources, payment of medical expenses, degree of disability, course of the disease and in the relationship between family caregivers and patients, some targeted measures must be taken to improve the quality of family care.3.Family caregiver task inventory, social support were affected the quality of family care in different degrees. Suggest us to develop and make full use of of social support in all aspects and pay attention to improve the ability of family caregivers and ensure the quality of family care.4. Family caregivers have two different emotional experiences.To reduce the influence of negative emotions, Make the family caregivers play a positive role in family care.
