The Clinical Research Of Different Horizontal Jaw Positions Of Complete Dentures

Objective The horizontal jaw relations of complete dentures are recorded by three kinds of methods,one is the centric relation determined with the gothic arch tracer,the second is also using the gothic arch,1mm anteriorly to the centric relation;the third method is that the mandibular position obtained on the natural chewing.Making the three kinds of complete dentues for 8 edentulous patients.The clinical efficiency of three kinds of horizontal jaw position complete dentures are contrasted.Methods Using own comparison research,the mastication efficiency of three different horizontal jaw position complete dentrues are examined by the method of chewing peanut. Examining the occlusion of three kinds of complete dendures with T-ScanⅡsystem.The differences among them were analyzed.Results1.The mastication efficiencies of the two kinds dentures whose jaw relation on the apex of the gothic arch tracing and by the natural chewing are higher than that of the denture whose jaw relation on 1mm anteriorly to the centric relation by the Gothic bow,the difference has statistics significance(P＜0.05).The difference between the centric relation pattern determined by the Gothic bow and the natural chewing pattern does not have statistics significance(P＞0.05).2.After occlusion grinding,,the mastication efficiency of the three difference horizontal jaw relation of complete dentures are all higher.The defferences have statistics significance.(P＜0.05).3.With the T-ScanⅡtext,the occlusion of the two kinds dentures whose jaw relation on the apex of the gothic arch tracing and by the natural chewing was more balance than that of the denture whose jaw relation on lmm anteriorly to the centric relation by the Gothic bow,but the difference did not have statistics significance(P＞0.05 ).The time of the three different horizontal jaw relation of complete dentures from one contact to ICP during mandibular closing was near,the differences among them do not have statistics significance (P＞0.05).4.After occlusion grinding,occlusion balance of the two kinds dentures whose jaw relation on the apex of the gothic arch tracing and whose jaw relation on 1mm anteriorly to the centric relation by the Gothic bow was improved,but the difference between them does not have statistics significance(P＞0.05).5.After occlusion grinding,occlusion of the complete denture whose jaw relation obtained by natural chewing was more balance,which had the statistics significance(P＜0.05).The difference of the tine from one contact to ICP during mandibular closing does not have statistics significance(P＞0.05).Conclusions1.According the mastication efficiency,the centric relation position determined with the gothic arch tracer and the mandibular position obtained on the natural chewing are closer to the functional position.2.According the COF and the time from one contact to ICP,the differences of three horizontal jaw relations of complete dentures do not have statistics significance,all the mandibular position are relative centric.
