Objective: To understand the background, population distribution, seasonal dynamics and habitats of the medical vector such as mosquitoes, rodents, flies and cockroaches at Dalian airport. This information is very helpful for us to prevent and eliminate the medical vectors at Dalian airport.Methods: The investigation of the medical vector was according to the surveillance standards and it had been done from 2007 to 2009. Use mosquito lamp, rat trap and rat board, fly cage and cockroach board to investigate the kinds of mosquitoes, rodents, flies and cockroaches in the area of Dalian airport from during the three years. The SPSS 13.0 analysis of density index of the medical vector with National Control Standard and the data of Dalian 2009 was mad.Results: In this investigation, 1 family, 1 genera and 1 species of mosquitoes is found, among which the dominant species is Culex, the peak time is from July to September; 1 family, 1 genera and 1 species of rodents is found, among which the dominant species is Rattus norvegicus, the peak time is from May to July; 4 families, 12 genera and 14 species are found, among which the dominant species is Lucilia sericata, the peak time is from June to August.Conclusion: The density of mosquitoes and rats were not beyond the control standards, but the density of flies is higher than that of National Control Standard. The medical vector control should be strengthened to prevent the introduction and spread of infection disease at Dalian airport.
