A Study Of Cognitive Function And Quality Life Of Schizophrenia

Objective:To explore the influencing factors on cognitive function and quality life of schizophrenia. To analyse the differences of clinical characters, cognitive function, quality life between the inpatients and outpatients.Methods:100 schizophrenia patients including 50 inpatients and 50 outpatients and 50 control group were tested. All patients were divided into Clozapine group,Risperidone group,and Aripiprazole group.All patients'clinical symptoms were evaluated using Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS), General Assessment of Functioning Scale(GAF), Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale(TESS), The Cognitive function of schizophrenia and control were assessed by Digit Symbol and Digit Span in Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale Revised in China(WAIS-RC), Visual Reproduction in Wechsler Mimory Scale-Revised in China(WMS-RC), Wisconsion Card Sorting Test(WCST). Compare the different of Cognitive function between patients group and control group. Using Schizophrenia Quality of Life Scale (SQLS) to evaluate the quality of schizophrenia patients.To analysis the correlation factors of the Schizophrenia patients'SQLS.To investigate the different of SQLS between inpatients and outpatients.Results:1. The study showed that with different sex, education level, age of onset, course of illness, and different second-generation antipsychotic drug, patients'cognitive functions were not equal; Improvement of cognitive function by Risperidone and Aripiprazole is higher than Clozapine; Cognitive function of patients was correlative significantly with negative psychiatric symptoms.2. Improving of attention of inpatients was higher than outpatients,but executive function was lower than outpatients.3. Quality of life in schizophrenia were significantly poor, Psychosocial factor of inpatients was better than outpatients,but vigor/motivation factor was lower than outpatients.;Improving of inpatients'psychosocial factor is higher than outpatients'4.. The lower of age, education,the longer of illness,the divorced patients have the poorer quality of life. The clozapine group has lower Improving of quality of life than risperidone group and aripiprazole group.5. Cognitive function, psychiatric symptoms, social function and side effects of drugs were significantly influenced the quality of schizophrenia lifeConclusions:1. It is sure that cognitive function is markedly impaired in schizophrenia, especially in attention, memory,and executive function.The mail, lower education level, earlier age of onset patients have the significantly cognitive dysfunction, negative psychiatric symptoms were significantly influenced the cognitive function of schizophrenia.2. The earlier age of onset, lower education level, divorce, shorter course of illnesspatients have the poorer quality of life.cognitive function, psychiatric symptoms, social function and side effects of drugs were significantly influenced the quality of schizophrenia life.3.
