Objective:By detecting the actual bodyweight/ideal body weight percentage, bodymassindex and serum albumin to explore the correlation between the nutritional status and the disease severity grading in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).Methods:To collect 30 COPD patients who were in hospital of the north hospital of second affiliated hospital of Dalian medical university in november, 2009 - december, 2010(A group),who were 16 male ,14 female, The age was 56-90 year old, in which the moderate patient was 9 people, the more severely patient was 13 people, the most severely patient was 8 people, and the number of patients with respiratory failure was 9 people . The healthy control group was 30 healthy people, The age was 50-60 year old, 15 male,15 female.Excluded the patients who were with chronic underlying diseases. All patients conform to the chronic blocking lung disease which in 2007 China Medical Association formulates to diagnose the standard the diagnosis standard. Eliminated merge tumor patients, tuberculosis activity patients, diabetics, thyroid function hyperfunction patients, hepatorenal function failure patients, and concurrent dropsy patients. The nutritional status of 30 COPD patients were evaluated by means of three nutrition index: actual bodyweight/ideal body weight percentage, bodymassindex (BMI) and albumin (Alb), and an analysis was made of the correlation between the nutritional status and the grading of the disease. Analyze the data by statistical software SPSS11.5, Comparing in Multiple by Analysis of variance, Comparing in Count data by Chi-square test, Comparing in Two-sample by test. Results:The IBW percentage,BMI, serum albumin of COPD were Reduced Comparing control groups with varying degrees,(P<0.05), the IBWpercentage,BMI were positively related with the severity of the disease, the more severely of the disease of patients, the lower of IBW percentage (r=9.797,P<0.05) and BMI(r=11.217,P<0.03);while the serum Alb value was not distinctly related with the disease severity (P>0.05).Conclusion:There were vary degrees of malnutrition with COPD patients, and was related with the rates of COPD, the heavier of diseases, the heavier of malnutrition. That is the effective nutritional support is of vital importance for COPD.
