The Experimental Research On Using Electroacupuncture To Treat The Dysfunction Memory Of Rats Suffered From Alzheimer's Disease

Objective: To observe the general situation and weight, effects of the behaviors of Alzheimer's disease (AD) rats and the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) ?catalase (CAT) , the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) in rats'brain tissue and blood serum when apply electroacupuncture (EA) to the points Shenshu, Fengfu, Zusanli, Sanyinjiao. The results provided new thoughts and methods for treating AD. Methods:To adopt Y type labyrinth choosing 30 healthy male Wistar rats, divided them into fake surgical operation group, model group and EA group randomly, every group has 10 rats. Model group and EA group injected amyloid protein A?1-40 to rats'right side hippocampus to build AD pattern. Fake surgical operation group injected the same dosage of saline in the same position. After that the Y type labyrinth was applied for model validation. Model group and fake surgical operation group without any treatment, apply same grasp and fix to EA group. After two courses treatment, the ability of rats'study and memory in the Y type labyrinth, the activity of SOD and CAT, and the content of MDA in rats'brain tissue and blood serum were determined. Statistical analysis was used. Results: (1) Comparison with Model group, fake surgical operation group and EA group after treatment were improved in gerenal; Comparison with Model group, fake surgical operation group and EA group after treatment were statistically significant (P<0.05) in weight change suggested the EA could gain weight after treatment. (2) The behavior was no statistically significant (P>0.05) in model group and fake surgical operation group before and after treatment; There was statistically significant (P<0.05) in model group and EA group compared with fake surgical operation group after building model. Suggested that the model group and EA group emerged the barrier of learning and memory. There was statistically significant (P<0.05) in EA group compared with model group after treatment, suggested that EA could reduce frequency of making AD rats through the test of Y type labyrinth. (3) Comparison of rats'brain tissue index and blood serum index, there was statistically significant (P<0.05) in model group compared with fake surgical operation group, Suggested model group have decreased significantly the activities of SOD and CAT and increased significantly the content of MDA in rats'brain tissue and blood serum. There was statistically significant (P<0.05) in EA group compared with model group, suggested the EA could increase the activity of SOD and CAT while decreasing the content of MDA. Conclusion: Applying EA to the points Shenshu, Fengfu, Zusanli and Sanyinjiao, EA could improve the general situation, gain weight, reduce frequency of making AD rats through the test of Y type labyrinth, increase the activities of SOD and CAT, decrease the content of MDA in rats'brain tissue and blood serum. The probably mechanism was EA increased the activity of SOD and CAT's antioxidation system to protect neurone, and strengthened the function of oxyradical's purge system to improve antioxidation ability of body.
