Objective:To observe and evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of electroacupuncture in treatment for improve cognitive function of patients who have Alzheimer's DiseaseMethods:40 patients who have Alzheimer's disease were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,20 patients in each group. The treatment group was given electroacupuncture treatment, and the control group was given oral administration of donepezil tablets. The total treatment lasts for 12 weeks. The clinical efficacy of the two groups was evaluated respectively before the treatment,4 weeks ±3 days after the treatment,12 weeks ±3 days after the treatment, and 36 weeks ±7 days after the treatment,by using MMSE and MoCA.Results:1.As the baseline information were of no statistic difference between the two groups before the treatment(P>0.05),they are comparable.2.Treatment 12 weeks±3 days: The difference of MMSE score between the experimental group and the control group before and after treatment was 1.25± 1.71 and 0.85±1.39,and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).The difference of MoCA score between the experimental group and the control group before and after treatment was 0.45±2.54 and 1.75±1.52,and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).The experimental group before and after treatment MMSE score were 17±6.08 and 18.25±6.10,the control group before and after treatment,MMSE scores were 16.90 ±7.26 and17.75±6.50,the two groups before and after treatment MMSE score difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The experimental group before and after treatment MoCA score were 11.80±5.52 and 12.25±5.52,the control group before and after treatment,MoCA scores were 11.85±6.38 and 13.60±6.40,the two groups before and after treatment MoCA score comparison,no statistically significant difference in experimental group(P>0.05).There was significant difference in the control group(P<0.05).The total score of MMSE in the experimental group was 18.25±6.10,and the total score of MMSE in the control group was less than. The difference between the two groups in MMSE score was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The total score of MoCA in the experimental group was 12.25±5.52,and the total score of MoCA in the control group was less than. The difference between the two groups in MoCA score was not statistically significant(P>0.05).3.Treatment 4 weeks±3 days: There was no significant difference between the two groups in MMSE score and MoCA score before and after treatment(P>0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in MMSE score and MoCA score(P>0.05).4.Follow-up period 24 weeks±7days: There was no significant difference between the two groups before and after treatment with MoCA score(P>0.05).The total score of MMSE score and MoCA score of the two groups were decreased compared with before treatment, the difference of MMSE score and MoCA score between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in MMSE score and MoCA score(P>0.05).5.There are two patients in pain and one patient has a hematoma in treatment group, but they have no impact on research integrity. Two groups of adverse events was not found.Conclusion:1.Electroacupuncture may improve the cognitive function of patients with Alzheimer's disease;2.Unable to determine the electricity to improve cognitive function in cure Alzheimer's patients curative effect is better than oral donepezil;3.Electroacupuncture may have a sustained effect on Alzheimer's disease;4.In this study, both two kinds of treatment are safe and have good treatment compliance.
