objective:To provide scientific materials for clinical practice by making retrospective study on the cholelithiasis patients who have accepted surgical treatment in Zunyi region of Guizhou province to find the correlative factors and status quo of cholelithiasis in terms of Clinical Epidemiology.Methods:Gathering medical record information about patients who have accepted surgical treatment of cholelithiasis from 2000 to 2009 in Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical College(patients who have lived in Zunyi Region more than ten years); making clinical questionnaires and training proper persons to fill in the forms and input the information into the computer to analyze by SPSS 13.0.Results:The ratio between male and female cholelithiasis patients is 1:1.78, which has a great difference statistically. The constituent ratio of different kinds of cholelithiasis is not the same. The cholecyslithiasis has absolute predominance (86.76%), which has a tendency to increase year by year. The extrahepatic bile duct accounts for 10.79% while the ratio of intrahepatic bile duct for 2.45%, the lowest relatively. Compared to the other regions in China, the ratio of Cholecyslithiasis and extrahepatic bile duct is relatively higher. The summit clinical age in Zunyi Region is more than 41 years old and more than 51 years old, which amounts to 48.79%, about the half of the total. The summit age of gallbladder stone has become younger to 10 years. The cholecyslithiasis among male and female patients is the maximum while the extrahepatic bile duct the minimum; and the kinds of cholecyslithiasis among male and female patients are of little difference statistically. The peak age of gallbladder stone sufferers is compatible with the one of cholelithiasis. The peak age of sufferers of extrahepatic bile duct and intrahepatic bile duct is between 51 and 60 years old and there is little difference between them. The constituent ratio of high fat diet among the gallbladder stone sufferers is the highest (87.70%), while the constituent ratio of protein food among extrahepatic bile duct sufferers is 35.48% and the constituent ratio of high fat diet among intrahepatic bile duct sufferers is the lowest which has great difference statistically (P<0.05). It is found that office workers and peasants, of all cholelithiasis patients, account for 39.86% and 38.33% respectively which totally amounts to 78.01% and is in slightly higher amount. Among the gallbladder stone sufferers, office workers (40.88%) and peasants (40.55%) account the most. Peasants hold the largest share of the intrahepatic bile duct sufferers, which shows that peasants have close connection with the intrahepatic bile duct (P<0.0001)Conclusion:Cholecyslithiasis is the major clinical disease in Zunyi Region which has the tendency to suffer from younger and has close connection with the gender, diet, and profession.
