Sanjie Analgesic Capsule Therapy For Endometriosis: A Clinical Researeh

Objective:This study is intended to examine the clinical evidence on effectiveness of Sanjie Analgesic Capsule treatment for Endometriosis and the impact on uterine artery, with Mifepristone tablets as-a control, and to evaluate the safety of Sanjie Analgesic Capsule treatment.Methods:1.The research was devised as a randomized, parallel group-controlled study. All the patients observed in this study are coming from TAIHE Hospital affiliated to Hubei Medical University. Seventy patients were enrolled in this study. The patients were assigned randomly to Sanjie Analgesic Capsule (the observation group) or Mifepristone tablets group(the controlled group). And there are 31 patients in each group.The groups did not differ in terms of age, course of disease or the degree of pain.2. The observation group took 4 capsules of Sanjie Analgesic Capsule at a time,3 times per day. The capsules were taken from the first day of the menstruation cycle, a total of 3 menstruation cycles. And the controlled group took Mifepristone tablets 50mg per day, a total of 3 months. 3. The clinical symptoms, signs and the total effective ratios of each group were detected. We also analyse the change of the two groups on Doppler ultrasound measurement of uterine artery blood flow after each treatment, such as PI and RI.4. All statistical evaluations were treated with statistical package for the social sciences 14.0(SPSS 14.0). Aprobability value of 0.05 was deemed significant.Results:1. As to the total efficiency, the curative ratio of the observation group is 16.1%,and the controlled group is 9.7%, the total efficiency rotio of the observation group is 90.3%,and the controlled group is 80.6%. There is no statistical significance between the two groups (P>0.05)2. As to the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptoms score after treatment, the observation group scores 4.3±4.1,and the controlled group 5.0±5.3.The results have statistical significance (P<0.01). The observation group is better in cutting down the traditional Chinese medicine symptoms score.3. As to the pain score after treatment, the observation group scores 3.5±4.3, and the controlled group 5.1±5.5. The results have statistical significance (P<0.01). The observation group is better in decreasing the pain score.4. Significant decrease in pulsatility index (PI) and resistance index(RI)of the uterine artery was observed in the group of Sanjie Analgesic Capsule (P<0.05)5.There are no statistical difference in the systolic/diastolic ratio (S/D) between the two groups after treatment (P>0.05) 6. There are no obvious changes for the observation group in electrocardiographic examination, blood routine, urinary routine, hepatic function and renal function after the treatment. It was not detected that patients abandon treatment for bad response or side effect.Conclusions:Sanjie Analgesic Capsule are safe and effective drugs for Endometriosis.And they can decrease the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptoms secore and the pain score and decrease RI and PI of the uterine artery.
