Triosteum pinnatifidum Maxim. belongs to Triosteum Linn. genus , Caprifoliaceae family. It is a traditional folk remedy which is called"TianWangQi"in China. It mainly distributes in Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Gansu, Qinghai, Henan, Hubei , Sichuan and etc. The roots of this plant have long been used as Chinese traditional folk herbs to treat rheumatic disease, traumatic injury, dyspepsia, menoxenia and so on.Currently, some research based on the chemical constituents of the roots of Triosteum pinnatifidum Maxim. have been done, however, there have been few reports on the chemical constituents of the aerial parts. It is necessary for us to do a complete and systematical study on it. The purpose of the work is to compare the aerial chemical consitituents with the root's and discover the new structures which have activity or new types of natural compounds from it.Ten compounds were isolated from the ethanol extracts of Triosteum pinnatifidum Maxim. employing solvent extraction, silica gel chromatography, Sephadex LH-20 chromatography and recrystallization, along with silica gel and polyamide TLC analysis. The structures of six compounds were identified on the basis of chemical and spectral methods including NMR, MS, and comparing with authentic samples. They are sitosterol (TPAP-1), ferna-7, 9(11)-diene-3α, 16α-diol (TPAP-2), heptacosanol (TPAP-3), ursolic acid (TPAC-1), daucosterol (TPAE-1), amentoflavone(TPAE-5) .Among these compounds TPAP-2,TPAP-3,TPAE-5 were found in the genus for the first time.In this thesis, we also summarized the studies on botanical resources, chemical constitutes of flavonoids and iridoids, and bioactivities of related generas of Triosteum Linn.
