Objective: To study the chemical constituents extraction and structural features from the stems and leaves of Euonymus schensianus Maxim. Methods: the fresh stems and leaves of Euonymus schensianus Maxim were collected in Lunchuan county of Henan province and were extracted with 50% aqueous acetone twice at room temperature. The extract was concentrated under reduced pressure at 45℃to afford a dark-brown residue, then add some H2O to yield the water soluble section. The water soluble section was chromatographied over macroporous absorption resin Diaion HP-20 with aqueous methanol gradiently. Their fractions from resin were repeatedly chromatographied over Sephadex LH-20, Toyopearl HW-40, Silica gel columns. The structures of the chemical constituents from the plant were identified on the basis of physiochemical characteristics and spectral methods such as 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, NOESY, HSQC, HMBC, DEPT135, UV, IR, MS, and so on.Results: Twenty-six compounds were isolated and identified from the the stems and leaves of Euonymus schensianus Maxim. Conclusion: Five new compounds were isolated from the stems and leaves of Euonymus schensianus Maxim., they were schensianol A(GJH-14), schensianolside(G JH-17), schensianolsideⅡ(GJH-24), 2-hydroxy-2-methoxy-flavanonol-7-O-α-L-rham noside (WM-6) and 2-hydroxy-2-methoxy-flavanonol-5-O-α-L-rhamnoside (WM-6'). Twenty-one compounds were isolated from the the stems and leaves of Euonymus schensianus Maxim. for the first time. They were 2, 6-dimethyl-7-octene-2, 3, 6-triol (GJH-4), 2, 6-dimethyl-7-octene-2, 3, 6-triol-6-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(GJH-8), gardenin(GJH-21), asafzelin(GJH-31), kaempferol-7-O-α-L-rhamnoside(GJH-27), kaempferol-3, 7-O-α-L-dirhamnoside(GJH-25), chiirirhamin(GJH-23), kaempferol-3 -O-β-D-glucopyranosy(1→4)-α-L-rhamnoside-7-O-α-L-rhamnoside(GJH-29), evofol- inB(GJH-26), 3, 4-dimethoxyphenol-β-D-apiofuranosyl(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranoside (GJH-18), 4-O-α-L-rhamnosyl-2, 6-dihydroxybenzoicacid(GJH-37), syringin(GJH-6), coniferin(GJH-15), vanillic(GJH-3), 1-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-propanetriol (G JH-11),Р-hydroxy-phenylpropionicacid(GJH-5), 3, 4, 5-trimethoxyphenyl(GJH-9), 3, 4-dimethoxyphenyl(GJH-12), resorcinol(WM-3),β-sitosterol(GJH-2), D-mannitol (G JH-1).
