In recent years, the nursing and healthcare system has developed in our country. With the increasingly serious social demand for male nurses, although many medical colleges have recruited and trained more and more men correspondingly, as a result , there are still many problems among male nursing undergraduates because of various factors, which greatly influenced their learning, everyday life and career planning. Professional commitment which brings series of problems not only has troubled the boys, but also gradually has becomed the problems that medical colleges and healthcare system want to solve. Therefore, the study on professional commitment of male undergraduates towards nursing is very necessary.From the two psychological variables, paper attempts to study professional commitment and its relationship with achievement motivation of male nursing undergraduates, which will provide some enlightenment for the study on professional commitment of male nursing undergraduates and present the basis for the education and counseling about academic, vocational and psychological aspects of them.The qualitative and quantitative research are chosen as the method in this study. Through using questionnaire survey on 603 medical undergraduates from nursing, clinical medicine, medical imageology and anesthesiology in Xuzhou medical college,original data have been analyzed in detail by using SPSS16.0 statistical software, and the in-depth interviews are also carried out among some male nursing undergraduates. The innovative results are as follows:1. The overall level of professional commitment of male nursing undergraduates is not high.2. The differences of normative commitment, continued commitment and the total scores between male and female nursing undergraduates are significant,and affective commitment between them also exists significant difference, each professional commitment level of male nusing students is lower than that of female nursing students.3. The differences of affective commitment, normative commitment, continued commitment and the total scores of male nursing undergraduates in each grade are significant,but the difference of ideal commitment is not significant. The scores of affective commitment, normative commitment, continued commitment and the total professional commitment of freshman are significantly higher than other male nursing undergraduates in each grade, but the differences of which between sophomore, junior and senior boys are not significant. Ideal commitment between freshman and sophomore male students is significant different, and ideal commitment between freshman and senior male students is also significant different. But the differences of ideal commitment between freshman and junior, sophomore and junior, junior and senior boys are not significant different.4. The differences of affective commitment, ideal commitment, normative commitment, continued commitment and the total scores between male nursing undergraduates and other male medical students are significant, every professional commitment level and the total scores of male nursing undergraduates are the lowest.5. The differences of affective commitment, normative commitment, ideal commitment continued commitment and the total scores between rural and city male nursing undergraduates are not significant.6. The scores of motive achieve of male nursing undergraduates are lower than the motive to avoid failure, and with regard to grade, rural or city, the motive achieve and motive to avoid failure are not significant.7. The correlation between professional commitment and achievement motivation is low.
