Objective:To explore the expression and the significance of Cx43 and PTEN in Ovarian epithelial tumor tissues.Methods:Select 116 cases of the surgical resection specimens, in January 2008 October 2009, from China-Japan Friendship Hospital of Jilin University and Central Hospital of changchun, these pathological cases had complete datas, including the age of 35-77 years old(average age 45 years), no preoperative radiotherapy, chemotherapy and hormone therapy, nor associated with other malignancies. Epithelial ovarian cancer specimens were divided into groups according to clinical stage, histological grade, histological type, such as different standards for classification. Detect the expression and the significance of Cx43 and PTEN in the 20 normal ovarian tissues,20 cases of benign ovarian epithelial tumors,20 cases of borderline epithelial ovarian tumors and 56 cases of epithelial ovarian cancer tissue By HRP immunohistochemistry method. Analysis Cx43 protein and PTEN in the ovarian epithelial tumors with various clinicopathological parameters, aimming to study development of ovarian cancer and the role and the relationship between them.Result:1.Cx43 positive cells brown particles located in the cell membrane and cytoplasm; PTEN protein positive cells brown particles located in the nucleus and the cytoplasm.2.The positive rates of Cx43 and PTEN protein were 85%,90% in ovarian normal tissues; which were 80%,90% in Benign ovarian epithelial tumor,46.4%,51.8% in epithelial ovarian cancer. compared with the normal ovary tissues, benign ovarian epithelial tumors, borderline epithelial ovarian tumor tissue, the positive expression rate of Cx43 protein and PTEN protein in Epithelial ovarian cancer were different significantly. Cx43 and PTEN protein in normal ovary tissues, the difference of the positive expression rates in benign epithelial ovarian tumor tissue was not statistically significant.3. Cx43 protein in the pathological grading of G1-G2 and G3 group, the positive group were 35.7% 82.2%, Two groups had significant differences. PTEN protein in the pathological grading of G1-G2 and G3 group, the positive group were 39.3% 78.5%, Two groups had significant differences. The degree of expressions of Cx43and PTEN protein, in the cell were related with epithelial ovarian tumor Pathological grade, worse pathological differentiation, the positive expression rate is lower;.4. The positive expression rates of Cx43 protein in clinical stageⅠ,Ⅱstage and III, IV were 96.2% and 46.7%, The difference between the two groups was significant; The positive expression rates of PTEN protein in clinical stage I, II stage and III, IV were 100% and 43.3%, The difference between the two groups was significant. The degree of expressions of Cx43 and PTEN protein in the cell were related with epithelial ovarian tumor Surgical-pathologic staging; Surgical-pathologic staging the later, lower rates of positive express.5 The positive expression rate of Cx43 protein and PTEN protein in epithelial ovarian cancer tissue was regardless of the cancer type. There were no significant difference between ovarian serous adenocarcinoma and non-serous ovarian cystadenocarcinoma two groups.Conelusion:1.The expression of Cx43 protein, and PTEN protein in epithelial ovarian cancer was significantly lower than normal and benign tumor. It was shown that the absence of Cx43 protein or PTEN protein in ovarian cancer has related with the occurrence and development of epithelial ovarian cancer.2. Cx43, PTEN positive expression of epithelial ovarian tumor were connected with;tumor histopathologic grade, and surgical-pathologic staging, regardless of cancer type;It told that increasing cell proliferation due to the absence or reduction of PTEN and (or)CX43 protein.It indicated poor prognosis in ovarian cancer as well.3.Cx43 protein and PTEN protein expression in Epithelial ovarian tumor tissues was positively correlated, more decreased PTEN protein expression was, the less CX43 protein expressed.4. Ovarian cancer, developed as a complex process of multiple factors, the relationship between Cx43 protein or PTEN protein and ovarian cancer remains to be explored.
