Study On Nutritional Knowledge, Attitude, Behavior Of Young Lovers And Single Persons And Effect Of Nutritional Peer Education

Objective In this study, we discussed difference of nutritional knowledge, attitude, dietary behavior and dietary pattern of young lovers and single persons by questionnaire investigation, evaluated effect of nutritional peer education and supplied scientific evidence for finding a feasible way to announce nutritional knowledge to young people.Methods The research objects included student group and worker group. We selected randomly 50 couples of lovers as student lovers group,50 single boys and 50 single girls as student single group, who were all students in colleges and universities in Jinan urban field. We also selected randomly 100 couples of lovers as worker lovers group,100 single men and 100 single women as worker single group, who were all workers in Jinan urban field. Student lovers group and worker lovers group composed lovers group. Student single group and worker single group composed single group. We studied the nutritional knowledge, attitude, dietary behavior, dietary pattern and so on of youth by questionnaire investigation. The questionnaire included general items of crowd, nutritional knowledge, nutritional attitude, dietary habits, dietary behavioral effect of lovers, dietary reseach of 3 days and so on. And then, we selected 50 couples, choosed one person as peer education teacher from each couple of lovers, directed and supervised the one person to teach nutritional knowledge to their lovers in daily life after nutritional announcing activities. We carried out questionnaire reseach again to the 50 couples of lovers after intervention for 3 months, and then evaluated the effect. Results1. Average score of nutritional knowledge of all youth was (16.95±2.08). Man of lovers group was (17.06±1.73). Woman of it was (17.47±2.10). Man of single group was (16.71±2.13), and woman of it was (16.54±2.21). Average score of woman of lovers group was higher than it of man and woman of single group(P<0.01). Average score of man of lovers group was also higher than it of woman of single group (P<0.05).2. Awareness rate of "Dietary fiber can improve gastrointestinal tract function." of man of lovers group was 87.3%, which was higher than it of man of single group (P<0.05). Awareness rate of it of woman of lovers group was 89.9%, which was also obviously higher than it of man of single group (P<0.01). Awareness rates of "Nutritional value of dark colour vegetables is higher than it of light colour vegetables." of all groups were lowest in all questions. Awareness rate of it of woman of single group was 37.2%, which was higher than it of man of single group (P<0.05). And awareness rate of it of woman of lovers group was 40.7%, which was also obviously higher than it of man of single group (P<0.01).3. Man and woman of lovers group were more interested in nutritional knowledge than man of single group (P<0.01), and all hoped more that their dietary were consistent with body nutritional meets than man of single group (P<0.01).4. Rate of "Eating breakfast" of woman of lovers group and single group respectively was 78.7% and 76.7%, which all higher than it of man of single group (P<0.05). Rate of "Eating midnight snack" of woman of lovers group was 4.1%, and it of woman of single group was 12.1%. Rates of it of man of lovers and single group were all higher than woman of the two groups (P<0.01). And number of "Eating midnight snack" of man of single group was most, which was 20.8%. Rate of "Eating vegetables and fruits everday." of man of single group was lower than other three groups (P<0.01).5. Number of "Think that lovers'help is important for me to improve nutritional awareness." of man of lovers group was more than it of woman of lovers group (P<0.01). Women more thougt their lovers over weight (P<0.01), and were more willing to raise their lovers of habit of taking exercise (P<0.05). 6.56.9% men and 49.0% women ate more fruit on the influence of their lovers. And then,48.6% men and 43.5% women ate more vegetable on the influence of their lovers. Thirdly,41.7% men drank less wine and 34.0% women took exercise on the influence of their lovers.7. Intake of each kind of nutrient and food of average each person each day of man was higher than it of woman. Intakes of vegetables, fruits, fish, shrimp and milk of student group were insufficient, and intakes of vegetables, fruits and milk of worker group were also insufficient.8. Average score of nutritional knowledge of lovers was obviously higher, attitude turned better and rates of health behavior were increased after nutritional peer education(P<0.01).Conclusion1. Sexuality and whether single can affect nutritional knowledge, attitude, and behavior of youth. Lovers master nutritional knowledge better and have more health behavior than single youth. Women's attitudes are better and their numbers of eating brestfast and food avoidance are more. And numbers of taking exercise and eating outside oftenly of men are larger than them of women.2. Lovers' dietary behavior in daily life could interaction.3. Intakes of some nutrient and some food of youth are insufficient. And dietary balance should be encouraged.4. Nutritional peer education of lovers is effective and it can be a good nutritional teaching way to young people and other people.
