Objective:To see the situation of the KAP on the AIDS and the effection of the peer education.Method:We adopt cross-sectional study to investigate the situation of the KAP on the AIDS,Using questionnaires to investigate the level of the understanding of AIDS, the attitude and the behavior;separate the subject into two groups,conducting peer education to group one,using t-test and χ2-test to compare the difference about KAP after peer education.Results:The simple size of this investigation is2300,which are all college freshmen; in the baseline survey of the freshmen,there is no difference in the total scores and the scores after stratify by gender and nationality between the two groups (p>0.05); in the baseline survey of the freshmen,71.2%of the knowledge of the AIDS coming from the broadcast and the TV,only24.7%of the knowledge coming from parents.;in the investigation of the awareness rate of the knowledge of the AIDS,the question which has the highest awareness rate is:whether input blood or blood products with the AIDS virus will get AIDS?(96.3%); the question which has the lowest awareness rate is:which day is the WAD?(29.5%); most of the questions’awareness rate are among70%-95%;the investigation of the scores of the positive attitude to AIDS,most queations’scores are among80%-95%. the questions which has relatively low positive score are:willing to have meals with AIDS patients.would like to be a volunteer of AIDS preventing.; the baseline survey shows that4.8%of the freshmen have had sexual behavior;36.4%of the freshmen never use condom;the average age of the first sexual behavior is18.54;After peer educationjn the analyse of the score of the knowledge of AIDS,the total scores and the scores after stratify by gender and nationality in the two groups are different (p<0.05),before peer education,the average score is12.32, after peer education, the average score is12.87;after peer education,in the analyse of the attitude to AIDS, only in minority there is no difference between the peer education group and the control group (p>0.05); before peer education,the average score is7.79, after peer education, the average score is8.14。Conclusion:1. The total rate of the knowledge of the AIDS in freshmen is high,they have the ability of preventing AIDS.2. The scores of the emotional positive attitude to AIDS is high,but the scores of the actional positive attitude to AIDS is low.3. Among students who have had sexual behavior,about1/3never use condom, they have unprotected sexual behavior.4..Peer education is effective.After peer education,the rate of the positive attitude and the score of the knowledge of AIDS is higher.
