Objective: To observe and check the clinical efficacy and adverse effects of Pricking Blood Therapy in treating Laryngeal Cough so to find a new treatment. Methods: Sixty patients with Laryngeal Cough entered the study and were randomized to Pricking Blood therapy treatment group and Jizhi syrup control group,30 case in each. The treatment group was given Pricking Blood Therapy in which 4 times is one course of treatment and generally not more than 5 times; The control group was given Jizhi syrup for oral use for two courses of treatment, 7 days as a course. Observe and record the symptoms and physical signs at the beginning and ending of the experiment, and record adverse reactions. Results: After counted with statistics, the clinical observations show that both groups are effective. The total effective rate of the treatment group is 90.00%,while the total effective rate of the control group is 70.00%.There is quite significant difference between them(P<0.05)The efficacy of the treatment group is better than that of the control group and all symptoms and signs were improved(P<0.05)in the comparison at the beginning and the ending. There are no obvious adverse events in the treatment for two group's patients. Conclusions: Pricking Blood Therapy could cure or ease Laryngeal Cough symptoms and has confirmed cure effect.
