Investigation On The Demand Of Community Health Workers Training In Jilin Province And Its Current State

Objectives To assess the current situation of community health workers'socio-demographic characteristics in Jilin Province; To confirm the situation of community health workers' community knowledge and skills; To confirm the situation of job training and the demand of community health workers; To analysis the demand of job training in Jilin Province.Methods Non-experimental study was used in this study. Using a cluster sampling method,3 cities'community health service centers were randomly selected from Jilin Province, the on-the-job community nurses and general practitioner were chosen as our study object with cluster sampling,altogather1163 ones. The questionnaire based on "Demand of community nurses'job training in Jilin Province" by Li Chun-yu, after researched on domestic and foreign literatures, based on "The outline of Community nursing on-job training" and "The outline of GPs training" which promulgated by Ministry of Health. All the data was input computer and analyzed by SPSS 13.0.Results The average age of GP was 40.09±8.18. The average year of clinical work was 14.27±8.24,61.7%of GPs worked in community less than 5 years, lack the experience of work in community, the medical educational level of GP is junior college, better than national level, Undergraduate course and the above education is better than national level; most professional title were middle, level with the national level;62.2%of GP mastered cardiopulmonary resuscitation well,10.7%of them lacked knowledge and skill on use of common instruments. Younger age, shorter community working lifetime and low professional title lacked knowledge and skill. The average age of community nurse was 38.07±7.19, The average year of clinical work was14.80±8.00,63.8% of community nurses worked in community less than 5 years, level of junior college and primary professional title is better than national level,63.8% of community nurses mastered familiar basic nursing well 13.6% of them lacked knowledge and skill on knowledge of scientific research, younger age, shorter community working lifetime and low professional title lacked knowledge and skill;42.9%of community nurses did not attend community position training, the most important problem of training is shorten of training time, The most requirements of knowledge and skills were Home Care Nursing of the Elderly (99.7%).Conclusion At present, the level of GPs and community nurses'professional title and educational background were better than national level or very close, but the acquisition of knowledge and skills were not ideal, the popular rate of GPs'job training was better than community nurses. According to the demand of community and community health workers, combined with the status carry out job training of community health workers.
