Objective:1. To investigated the knowledge, attitude, practice(KAP) and the quality of life of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) in current stage and study how to improve the patients' quality of life by nursing strategy.2.To evaluated the effect of KAP health education on patients' knowledge, attitude, practice, quality of life and lung function in remission stage of COPD.Method:We used the questionnaire method, designed with knowledge about COPD-related KAP questionnaire survey to investigated, evaluated pulmonary function, assessed exercise tolerance by six-minutes walk test in 120 patients with COPD,then used St-George(SGRQ) quality of life questionnaire survey. For some reasons,12 patients automatic withdrawal,108 patients of them were randomly divided into experimental and control group for intervention study finally.Results:1.KAP levels in patients with COPD:The patients had better understanding on risk factors and incentives of disease, the average rate of correct answer was 87.5%, and had poor understanding on home oxygen therapy, medication and rehabilitation exercise, the average rate of correct answer were 40.85%,45%,42.9%.The 73.35% of patients had positive beliefs and attitudes to defeat the disease. And only 24.5% of patients do respiratory exercises,37.5% of patients stick with non-specific respiratory muscle training.2.Quality of life in patients with COPD and related factors:Total scores of quality of life and 3 dimensions scores of symptom, activity, the impact of disease on daily life in patients with COPD were 66.67±4.811,62.77±6.19,70.8±5.9,62.38±5.88, respectively. The main factors affected the quality of life in patients with COPD were hospitalizations, courses of disease, health behavior and family income.3.The intervention effectiveness of KAP healthy education:The scores of quality of life and three dimensions had improved after 6 months in experimental group compared with before intervention(P<0.01);There were significant differences compared with the control group (P<0.05). The scores of knowledge, attitude, practice had improved compared with before intervention in experimental group(P<0.05); and there were significant differences compared with the control group (P<0.05). There were no significant differences between before and after invention on scores of KAP in control group(P>0.05).The distance of 6MWT of the experimental group was increased than control group, there were significant differences (P<0.05).Conclusions:1.The overall quality of life in patients with COPD were poor, especially the patients with long couse, repeated hospitalization, lower family income and lack of knowledge of rehabitation.2.Knowledge-attitude-practice(KAP) health education can help patients and their families to learn more relevant knowledge of disease, established the faith to defeat the disease and positive attitude, develop a healthy lifestyle, improve the self-response capacity, ulyimately improve the quality of life.3. Knowledge-attitude-practice(KAP) health education can increase the exercise tolerance in patients, stave off pulmonary function's descend.
