Objective:To explore the impulsivity and aggressivity of the inpatients with internet addiction disorder before and after comprehensive behavioral and psychological therapy. To investigate the effect of internet addiction on cool executive function, hot executive function before and after the treatment. Methods:At the first week,100 IAD patients were tested as follows: (1)Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (BIS), Buss Aggressive Scale (BAS) were used to assess the impulsiveness and aggressive personality.(2) Attention Net Test (ANT), Wisconsin Card Sorting Test,Working Momery Test(N-back), Iowa gambling test and Mental rotation test to examine their cognitive functions. And after 3 months of treatments,60 of those patients had finished the same tests all of above.60 normal subjects in the control group were conducted by above tests.Results:(1) The Internet addiction group had significantly higher scores on the BIS and BAS total scores than the control group at the first week, IAD group had lower scores on the total scores of BIS and BAS after intergration interview than before, however the subscales and total scores were higher than those in the control group(P>0.05).(2)The cognitive function of IAD before the treatment:IAD group showed no difference except orienting effect in ANT(t=2.18,P<0.05); The Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST) showed there was no difference between the IAD group and normal group. The N-back test revealed:the accurate rates in 0-back, 1-back of IAD group had no difference to the comparison, but the reaction time was faster than control group's. The Iowa Gambling Task (IGT) revealed that participants with Internet addiction were more likely to select cards from the disadvantageous decks (A&B) in the first 40 draws in the Iowa gambling task. They were also more likely to choose the advantageous decks (C&D) in the last 40 draws. There were no differences to the control in every block.(3)The self-matching comparison of IDA cognitive function before and after interview:IAD group had no improvements in ANT and WCST; The accuracy rate of 1-back and 2-back of the IAD was significantly higher than before; IAD group's score was better than befor except the fifth block in IGT (t=1.58,P>0.05) (4) The cognitive function of IAD after the treatment:IAD group had no difference to the normal group in ANT and IGT. The 0-back RT was faster than control group, l-back,2-back accuracy and RT were better than normal group (P<0.01 or P<0.05); The Iowa Gambling Task (IGT) revealed that they also got higher score than comparison in every block(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusion:(1) IAD group exhibited more impulsivity and aggressivity than those in the control group. After intergration interview, their impulsivity and aggressivity are significantly decreased, but are still higher than those in the normal control group.(2) There are no significant differences between IAD group and the control group on cognitive function, after intergration interview the IAD group had no improvements in ANT and WCST, but they do better than before in Working memory test, IGT.
