Internet Addiction Disorder (IAD) is a impulse-control disorder without involving an intoxicant, bringing up pathological behavioral and cognitive mental disorder due to excessive internet use. The prevalence of internet addiction around the world is almost from5%to15%.Part1Epidemical Characteristics of Internet Addiction among AdolescentsObjective:To investigate the epidemical characteristics of Internet Addiction among adolescents.Methods:4,727adolescents from grade7th to grade12th were enrolled from6junior middle schools,4senior middle schools and2vocational schools from wuhan and macheng districts with method of stratified cluster sampling.3,033provided valid information. Young’s Internet Addiction Test and demographic variables were applied.Results:481(male349,72.56%, female132,27.44%) adolescents were met the diagnosis criterion of IAD. And the prevalence of IAD was15.9%. The prevalence rate of IAD in male was higher than that in female (P<0.001). The prevalence rate of grade8th was higher than that of grade7th. The prevalence rate of more online hours and more online years were higher than that of less online hours and less online years (P<0.001). The prevalence rate of IAD for chat, for game, for browsing web, for non-learning, for leisure, for downloading and for making friends were higher than that without (P<0.05). Different types of father’s vocations had a significant difference (P=0.05). There were no significantly differences between different districts, urban-rural, different family structures, different levels of parents’ education, different types of mother’s vocation (p>0.05).Conclusions:There is an epidemic trend among adolescents. Male, grade8th,more online hours, more years access to internet, cybercafe, chatting, game, browsing web, non-learning, leisure, downloading, and making friends are risk factors of Internet Addiction among adolescents. Different types of father’s vocations is related to Internet Addiction, and different levels of parents’ education, different districts, urban-rural, different family structures and different types of mother’s vocation have no statistical significance. Young’s Internet Addiction Test, Strengths and Difficulty Questionnaire, Quality of Life Scale for Children and Adolescents were applied.Results:With compare to non-addictive users, parent children relation, peer relationship, teacher student relationship and whole interpersonal relationship in addictive internet user were lower scores (P<0.001), conduct disorder (P<0.001) was higher scores. Correlation analysis revealed, Internet Addiction had significantly negative association with parent child relationship, peer relationship, teacher student relationship and whole interpersonal relationship (P<0.01), and a statistically positive association with conduct disorder (P<0.01). Multiple regression analysis showed Interaction of conduct disorder with parents children relationship, peer relationship, and whole interpersonal relationship were significant (P<0.001).Conclusions:The quality of parent children relation, peer relationship and teacher student relationship are protective factors. Conduct disorder modifies the effects of parent children, peer relationship and whole interpersonal relationship on internet addiction. Part3Comprehensive Intervention in Adolescents with Internet AddictionObjectives:To explore the effect of comprehensive intervention, to supply for one of efficient plans for curing Internet Addiction. Methods:87adolescents were enrolled from one middle school and camp.65students from school treat group were treated with regular comprehensively psychological courses, and22adolescents from camp treat group were treated with comprehensive intervention including family therapy and interpersonal relationship. The participants were administrated by using Young Internet Addiction Test, Barratt Impulsivity Scale (version11), Self-Rating Anxiety Scale, Self-Rating Depression Scale, Family Assessment Device and Quality of Life Scale for Children and Adolescents. Experiment design is one group pre-post test, paired group test was conducted.Results:Paired t-test revealed, camp treat group and school treat group after intervention were lower scores than before intervention (P<0.05). Problem solving in the family assessment device (P<0.05) was increased between the pretest and protest in camp treat group. The levels of anxiety and depression (P<0.05) after intervention were significantly lower than before intervention The level of anxiety after intervention was statistical lower than before intervention in school treat group. General level of whole life satisfaction, the quality of teacher student, and the quality of peer relationship (P<0.05) were significantly increased in school treat group. However regardless of camp treat group and school treat group, the levels of impulsivity of participants (P>0.05) were no significantly decreased.Conclusions:Comprehensive intervention in camp and comprehensive intervention in school could decrease the levels of Internet Addiction. Comprehensive intervention is one of useful plan to cure the Internet Addiction. Internet addiction disorder is temporary disorder, interventions in different surroundings work.
