Objective:To observe the effect of Liangxuexiaoban Formula to the clinical symptoms and and the level of peripheral platelet count, IL-18 of ITP patients, and to the platelet count, bleeding time, megakaryocyte and the level of IL-18 in peripheral blood serum of ITP mice. Further to discusse the effects of TCM mechanism and the relationship of IL -18 and ITP.Methods: Clinical observation: Totally 40 ITP patients were randomized into treatment group (20 patients, receiving Liangxuexiaoban Formula therapy) and control group (20 patients , receiving Weixuening particles therapy). Two groups of course are 2 months and then to observe the changes of the above indexes. Animal experiments: Using the immune modeling method of intraperitoneal injection of cavy-anti-mouse platelet serum (APS) to establish BALB/C mice with ITP, Liangxuexiaoban Formula have researched comparing with Weixuening particles as the positive control group to observe the changes of the above indexes.Results: Clinical observation: The total efficacy rate of treatment group was 85% , compared to 80% in control group, and the curative effect had siginificant deviation between two groups (P<0.05). The post-treatment platelet count was increased significantly in two groups, and there was siginificant deviation compared to the pre-treatment (P<0.05). The post-treatment platelet count was siginificant deviation between two groups (P<0.05). The level of serum IL-18 was descended in two groups, and there was siginificant deviation compared to the pre-treatment (P<0.05). The post-treatment level of serum IL-18 was siginificant deviation between two groups (P<0.05). Animal experiments: The platelets count was obviously increased bleeding time was decurtation, the level of serum IL-18 was descended in feeding Liangxuexiaoban Formula.Comparing with in feeding Weixuening particles, there was significant deviation (P < 0.05 ) . Producing platelets megakaryocyte was multiplication in feeding Liangxuexiaoban Formula. Comparing with in feeding Weixuening particles, there was not significant deviation (P>0.05).The platelets count was obviously increased, bleeding time was decurtation, producing platelets megakaryocyte was multiplication, the level of IL-18 was descended in feeding Liangxuexiaoban Formula. Comparing with model, there were significant deviation (P<0.05).Conclusion:The Liangxuexiaoban Formula has the function to increase platelet count, to shorten the bleeding time, to promote producing platelets megakaryocyte and to descend the level of IL-18. It shows that the Liangxuexiaoban Formula has therapeutic effect on ITP.
