Aim:The aim of this study is to search for the related factors of motor complication in Parkinson's disease and to discuss their relationships.Method:Patients hospitalized in 2nd Hospital of School of medicine, Zhejiang University during 2009-2010 are divided into groups of having motor complication or not and the style of motor complication. SPSS 19 is used to compare sex, age, age of onset, duration, initial symptom, smoking, alcohol drinking and combined diseases by ANOVA test, t-test, non-parameter test, crosstab, Cox regression, or Logistic regression. P<0.05 stands for the statistical significance. The results are shown in tables and figures.Result:The differences of distribution of duration and mean of duration, between group of motor complication and the control, and group of dyskinesia and the control are statistically significant. Alcohol drinking is inversely related to motor complication [OR=0.32 (0.10-0.99), P=0.039]. Urinary infection is related to motor complication [OR=1.08 (1.00-1.17), P=0.031] and dyskinesia [OR=16.38 (2.03-131.85), P=0.025]. The independent risk factors of motor complication include female [RR=8.33 (2.22-33.3), P=0.002], initial tremor [RR=4.35 (1.25-14.28), P=0.02], longer duration [RR=1.24/year (1.10-1.41), P=0.001] and combined heart disease [RR=14.29 (2.12-100), P=0.007] while the independent risk factor of dyskinesia is longer duration [RR=1.51/year (1.05-2.17), P=0.026].The effects of other factors are not statistically significant. Conclusion:The prevalences of motor complication and dyskinesia increase in relation to disease duration. Urinary infections are common when motor complication (especially dyskinesia)occurs. Female patients and patients with initial tremor, longer duration and combined heart disease are more likely to have motor complication while patients with longer duration are more likely to have dyskinesia.
