The fresh rice straw was used for experiment material to study the effect of lactobacillus or the green corn fermented juice on fermentation quality of rice straw silage, and the effect of rice straw silage on the digestibility and production performance of dairy cattle. In this assay, three experiments were designed to reach how rice straw silage is used theoretical and technical in dairy cattle,in order to promote the dairy cattle production and better utilize of rice straw silage.Experiment 1 Effects of different additives on fermentation quality and nutrition value quality of rice straw silageA single factorial trait was designed to study the effect of lactobacillus or the green corn fermented juice on fermentation quality and nutrition value quality of rice straw silage, pH,NH3-N,Organic Acids(volatile fatty acids and lactic acid)and general nutrients were measured to evaluate the fermentation quality and nutrition value quality of rice straw silage. The results showed that, there was no significant difference in the value of pH between the treatment groups.VBN/TN, butyric acid, NDF and ADF concentration with lactobacillus or green corn fermented juice were significantly decreased compared with the control(P<0.05), crude protein(CP)concentration and lactic acid concentration were significantly increased in silage feed.The fermentation quality and nutrition value of the rice straw ensiling with green corn fermented juice was best by comprehensive consideration of these indexes such as fermentation effect and nutritional value etc.Experiment 2 Digestibility of rice straw ensiling with different additivesA total of six Chinese Holstein dairy cows whose body condition,parity, age, milk yield, body weight were similar were randomly divided into two groups, The DM, CP, NDF, ADF concentration of dairy cows diet and fecal samples were measure,the digestibility of rice straw silage and dry rice straw were measured by using the method of AIA and substitution.Test was divided into two periods, digestibility of the basal diet was determined in the first period, and the digestibility of the new diet which was composed of basal diet which has 80% concentration and measured diet which has 20% concentration was determined in the second period.The results showed that, the DM, CP, NDF, ADF digestibility of rice straw ensiling with different additives were significantly higher than dry rice straw(P<0.05), It was concluded that the digestibility of rice straw ensiling with green corn fermented juice had better improvement.Experiment 3 Effects of rice straw silage on production performance of dairy cows In this experiment, the rice straw ensiling with green corn fermented juice was selected in order to study the effects of rice straw silage and dry rice straw on milk production and milk composition. A total of ten Chinese Holstein dairy cows whose body condition,parity, age, milk yield, body weight were similar were randomly divided into two groups(experiment group and control group).The results showed that, dry matter intake, milk yield, milk fat and milk protein of experimental cows were significantly different(P<0.05),while there was no significantly difference on concentration of milk lactose and milk dry matter.
