Study On The Effect Of Soil PH And Fertilization Treatments To Leaf Color Of Berberis Thunbergii Cv. Atropurpurea

This essay was aimed to study the morphological and physiological characteristics in the different soil conditions on Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea by measureing the chlorophyll content, anthocyanin content,soluble sugar content,PAL activity,the results showed that:(1)different pH buffer treatment show that, the leaf pH value of Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea is sensitive to changes of soil pH. In a certain range,that is the treatment buffer pH≥5.0,there have a positive correlation between the leaf pH value and the soil pH. The smaller leaf pH value,the better leaf color.But,after used the most acidic buffer treatment which pH=4,the growth of Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea slow down.the leaf pH value increased,other physiological indicators were reduced,the leaf coloration became worse.It is propable because the acid buffer solution radically changing the original physical and chemical properties of the soil, destroyed the activity of soil enzymes,reduce the Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea absorption and utilization the nutrients of the soil,which affecting the normal physiological growth of Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea.(2)durning the different pH buffer solutions,the pH5 buffer weekly treatmeat,that is,keep the soil pH value of 5.35 nearby,is the best leaf color of Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea; the pH8 buffer weekly treatmeat,that is,keep the soil pH value of 6.52 nearby,is the worst leaf color Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea.(3)Different fertilizer ratio experiments showed that, in the appropriate application of NPK fertilizer on the local purple soil to promote presentation of the leaf color of Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea.among this three factors, Potassium is the biggest factors about the leaf color of Berberis thunbergii var.atropurpurea.①In the certain range, With the increase in the amount of potash fertilizer, the anthocyanin content and soluble sugar content of Berberis thunbergii var.atropurpurea increased. When the application reaches the maximum level of potassium (24g), the leaf color is best.②The influence of nitrogen fertilizer is little.20g nitrogen fertilizer is benefit to plant growth,and better to accumulate the anthocyanins;30g nitrogen fertilizer caused plant leggy,no application of nitrogen fertilizer caused plant growth slowly,these two treatments are not beneficial to the leaf color of Berberis thunbergii var.atropurpurea.③The influence of phosphorus fertilizer is minimal.the greater the amount of phosphorus fertilizer application,the more anthocyanin content,this result is not consistent with previous studies,and need more research.(4)durning the different N,P and K fertilizer ratio,the treatment of 20g nitrogen fertilizer, lOg phosphate fertilizer,24g potassium fertilizer, is the best leaf color of Berberis thunbergii var.atropurpurea.the treatment of 30g nitrogen fertilizer, lOg phosphate fertilizer,8g potassium fertilizer, is the worst leaf color of Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea.(5) During two experimental treatment,the best results of leaf color of Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea appear in the minimum time of the photosynthetic pigment content.But the trend of photosynthetic pigment content of other treatment is not entirely consistent with the leaf color change, there is a certain correlation between the photosynehitic pigment and the leaf color,other physiological indicator, but it can not simple infer the leaf coloration of Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea according to the size of photosynthetic pigment content.lt need further studied in the relationship between photosynthetic pigment content and leaf colour change.(6)Measured the physiological of Berberis thunbergii var.atropurpurea under different treatments, the result showed that:The anthocyanin content and soluble sugar content,PAL activity was consistent, showing a positive correlation.; The anthocyanin content was changed On the contrary trend with the pH value, showing a negative correlation.The amount of anthocyanin content directly affects the leaf color of Berberis thunbergii var.atropurpurea,the greater the anthocyanin content,the better leaf color.
