Ligustrum vicaryi and Loropetalum chinense are behalfed two colored-leaf plants which commonly used in modern Landscape design. This experiment use two-year-planted Ligustrum vicaryi and Loropetalum chinense as experimental material. set the full light,10% shade,25% shading, and 50% shading four treatments, starting from April every 15 days to mature the leaves of two plants for the physiological and biochemical, analysis and comparison the effects of shading condition on their physiological characteristics of leaf photosynthesis, leaf pigments, specific leaf weight, leaf color to maintain the degree of color effects, the results show that:(1)With the increase of shading intensity, The physical and photosynthetic characteristics of Ligustrum vicaryi and Loropetalum chinense were as follows:net photosynthetic rate increased as the intensity decreased shade, stomatal conductance, transpiration rate, intercellular CO2 concentration with increased with increasing shade intensity. Shade the leaf weight ratio of the two species decreased, and the intensity and shade were positively correlated.(2)To make better use of light scattering wavelength blue-violet light, chlorophyll content, carotenoid content increased, the chlorophyll a/b ratio decreased, the chlorophyll content increased faster than the carotenoids, Chl/Car ratio increased.(3)Changes in shading on the two plants have a tremendous impact on leaf color, shading intensity increases with the more obvious the two plants turn green. the leaf color of Ligustrum vicaryi change from yellow to green as the shading increase:full light:yellow-green RGB (126,112,132)→10% shade:green yellow and RGB (117,119,122)→25% shade:Green RGB (128,133,126)→50% shade:dark green RGB (136,158,137).2 different shading of the Red Loropetalum chinense.15d in the shade, the gold leaf privet Secheng yellow in the middle of each treatment, and its ornamental characteristics were not affected, starting from the first 45 days,50% of the color shading of the leaves began to turn green. To 60 days,25% of the shade of the gold leaf privet leaves have turned green. Experiments show that in California Privet 10% of planting in shade can be tolerated while maintaining the basic show yellow-green leaves, more than 25% of its hidden strength will turn green leaves, yellow leaves lose their ornamental characteristics.(4)The leaves of Loropetalum chinense vwith increasing shade intensity appears from the purple RGB (126,112,132)→red and green RGB (117,119,122)→Green Red RGB (128,133,126)→gray-green RGB (136,158,137) changes. The leaves of red Loropetalum chinense began to change from the 30d,25% reduction purple shading plants, leaf color changes to brown and red,50% of the plants leaf color shading into brownish green,45d, the 25% cover shade conditions, plants showing brown leaves green leaves appear green and white uniform of brown leaf spots. Experiments showed that, Red Loropetalum chinense can tolerate 25% shade intensity, keeping the red color of the ornamental elements,50% shade leaves will return to green leaves, red leaves lose their ornamental characteristics.
