Since2003, Yantai Port has invested40.8billion yuan to build a200,000-ton and a300,000-ton of ore dedicated terminal. In the development of strategies, to2013, yantai Port will become one of the China's largest ore intermediate post, of which the overall transit capacity will reach37million tons. Under the current situation, how to achieve maximum capacity, and strive to achieve goals in it to keep going for a long time, is the current problems need to be solved. This article through the analysis of the present situation of yantai port, iron ore source situation, hinterland demand,internal and external transportation conditions, through a large number of data accurate and authoritative,to made clear the west harbor area of yantai iron ore development trend. This article through the strategic analysis, formulated the integration strategy, strengthen the logistics and informatization development strategy and two-way development strategy. Through the analysis of the current situation and iron ore port iron ore transportation logistics distribution, find out the port logistics development of iron ore is the main factors for their own yard, port area of the internal transport system conditions and the inadequacy of ability of garages, the author proposed in the process of the development in the future, need to speed up the west port ore phase ii project phase three, combined with yantai port existing layout, logistics and supply market conditions, yantai port to the major bulks development strategy planning research.
