In recent years, with the rapid development of power electronic technology, automatic control technology and embedded control technology, the scope of the stepper motor application become larger and larger. The stepper motor is used in many areas, such as machine packaging machinery, medical devices, analytical instrumentation, automotive, metering equipment, game machines, robots and so on.Because of the actual work and production needs,we need to control multiple stepper motors simultaneously rather than a separate stepper motor to work.So how to control multiple stepper motors or a separate one has become the key issues. At present, people have done lots of research of control multiple stepper motors at the same time. Multi-channel stepper motor control system can shorten the work time, improve work efficiency. it is very meaningful for the actual production. This paper analyzes the research background of the stepper motor, the current development at home and abroad, as well as its application and the problems currently. Through the study of the rotating body of the eight sets of filter spectrometers, the core is to design a multi-channel stepper motor control system by controlling the eight channel filter spectrometers. This paper designed a multi-channel stepper motor control system based on Single-chip microcomputer and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array). It meets the need of controling the stepper motor to start, accelerate, slow down, change the speed or number of steps during the process. We use the grating sensor to,measure the rotation displacement of the filter spectrometers. The data is calculated and processed by the Single-chip microcomputer. Human-computer interaction software is designed by Delphi7.In the end,we summed up the problems during the design and debug and the improvements need to make later.
