Continuity Of Research, University Campus Landscape Design

Education is a fundamental task crucial for generations to come and has an important position self-evidently in the 21st century. Especially in the past twenty or thirty years, the campus construction has been developing rapidly all over the country, along with the guidance of Chinese relevant policy and the strong demands for higher education from the development of the new economy. Many schools choose new pieces of lands to construct new campuses for the demands of the enrollment increase. University construction has presented a dilemma between quantity and quality:on the one hand in order to catch the time and compete for students, schools have to pursue quantity; on the other hand these campuses become featureless where supposed to be filled of cultural atmosphere.Each university has its different history, so new campus environment construction should shoulder the continue school history, rich campus cultural role. And many domestic university new campus, but mostly the same, fixed, design format with the old campus design cut the forms, the gimmick of contact, performance for the new campus and the old campus no connection whatsoever, people feel less than the school history and culture atmosphere. How to grasp new campus landscape design in historical and cultural continuity campus has become more and more people concern.This paper attempts to university new old campus landscape design related cases of research and analysis, this paper discusses how to continue in the campus of the university of landscape design, show university historical trace campus cultural atmosphere, building an ideal university campus environment.
