Traffic is the lifeblood of the city, the city's economic development and social progress plays a decisive role. City traffic is smooth and orderly, related to a city's competitiveness, attractiveness and development potential, and urban traffic congestion has a direct impact on people's quality of life. At present, China's large and medium cities are generally facing the problem of traffic congestion, increasing traffic congestion event, and showing a trend of increasing spread, throughout the various cities, has seriously affected the city's competitiveness. The development of modern integrated transport system, strengthen the interface between various modes of transportation and coordination, accelerate the construction of an integrated transport network, is the objective law of development of transportation and the development of significant new era of traffic characteristics.In this paper, the development of domestic and international urban transport system more comprehensive analysis of national and regional summary, focusing on analysis and medium-sized cities in China close to the international city; through the data collection for Jinan City "during" all aspects of urban transport development status, combined with domestic and international cities in the process of building an integrated transport system experience, summed up in Jinan city, the city's comprehensive transportation system has achieved results, analysis of the current shortcomings; the results of the analysis proposed for the development of urban public transport as a solution to urban traffic congestion issues and sustainable development of urban transport as a major work, the final, perfect for the city of Jinan city, the future integrated transportation system make relevant policy recommendations.
