Economic globalization and the rapid development of information technology have aprofound and comprehensive effect for manufacturing industry. Nowadays, in manufacturingindustry an important market competitiveness symbol of enterprise is to produce the innovativeproducts which are extraordinary and meet customer personalized demands. In order to meet thenew market, manufacturing enterprise must transform their core competition, productdevelopment strategy, the technical key, process focus and the organization focus. Manufacturinginformatization is based on information technology as the core of high technology, will promote our countrytowards globalization, green manufacturing development direction.The project of this thesis is supported by the National Science Foundation of China(50805133). Based on the reading and the analyzing of domestic and foreign relative literatures,this paper has researched the technology of product data management, the Tabular Layouts ofArticle Characteristics and mass customization. This paper prompt the basic principle, themodeling method of master parts based on SML, We discussed the basic principle, the modelingmethod of master document technology based on master model, which is mainly including theestablishment of master process based on XML. Finally, according to the actual needs, thesystem o f Variant Process based on PDM was developed.In chapter1, the paper's research background is introduced and analysis the current situationof CAPP and process variant design domestic and foreign, then get out the major content of thisdissertation and the structure.In chapter2, key issues in process variant design and key technologies based on PDM. Putforward the method and principle of Master Model Variant and Process Master DocumentVariant based on MC, PDM and variant design and discusses the system structure.Chapter3supports the process variant method of Parts Modeling and Variant ProcessVariant Design for Part Family is studies in detail. The master modeling of Parts family is established based on SML and to achieve the purpose of variant parts. Then, thetechnology of process master document based on XML and SML is proposed.Chapter4describes the development of Variant design system based on SML throughUG/Open API while Process Variant system and technology based on PDM is developed by Javalanguage in Teamcenter software. It also describes in detail the key functional modules of systemdesign and implementation.In chapter5, according to the theory knowledge of Chapter2and Chapter3, combined withthe developed variant system in chapter4, the research results in this paper is verified.In chapter6, a summation is made to generalize the work in this paper.
