Decorate is the expression form of one of the architectural art. The characteristic style of architecture originate from decorate to a great extent, In China, decorate is most important part on traditional architecture. No matter Palatial architecture , religion building or folk residence, there are always elegant ornament on it. There was good name "the land of abundance" a long ago for the areas of Chengdu Plain. According to the data, there are about five period for the progress of folk residence In Sichuan: Chin Dynasty, Tang and Song Dynasty, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasty, Republic of China. The areas of Chengdu Plain in SiChuan has a great important position in study of architectural history because of it's characteristic position and long standing culture. The great of building by which the relationship between the culture of Chinese history and architecture can be studied had been well preserved until today.The thesis is established in Researches On Architectural Ornamental component of Folk Residence On The Towns In ChengDu Plain, it can be sumed up by lots of study , analysis and survey on the spot for region of culture protect. There are three Parts in the thesis. First of all, the cultural history of ChengDu Plain has been stated. It includes two facts. One is the environment character of Ornamental Art of Folk Residence grew up. Another is the relation between Ornamental component and architecture. Secondly, the deep culture and characteristic art of decorative component about Ornamental component, which is most important in the thesis had been discussed. In this part, the point focused on the affect of decorate, which likes a bridge that link up human and architectures. Finally, the conclusion which has some practical significance . It includes two facts. One is connected the study of Ornamental component with actual alteration of folk residence, which look on the problem of inheritance with new point of view; Another is applications what take the study of Ornamental component into interior environment design, which cumulate fodder and afford basis for the interior design of Critical Regionalism.
