The capability of the production line is the one of most critical indicator for manufacturing company. And the company always use some individual indicator such as utilization, capacity, work in process etc.to evaluate production line. But these indicators will impact or even conflict with each other sometimes, management always confused for these conflicting reports, and don't know which one is 1st priority. This paper based on real factory situation does many researches for the semiconductor production property, and provide some valuable and creative ideas for the factory production line evaluation:1. Based on factory physics basic methodology, setup a matrix between cycle time, work in process and throughput. And then, setup 3 benchmarks based on some different assumption: base case, worst case and practical worst case.2. Study the semiconductor production floor, analysis the relationship between machine, station and production line. Collect actual data; translate them to parameter which model required. And then evaluate the production line performance base on these real data; provide some proposal based evaluation results.3. Evaluation system development, based on the software develops program approach, do some basic process analysis, create system function requirements, generate E-R (Entity and Relationship Diagram) and software environment. And then use Powerdesigner establish database model, via MS SQL SERVER establish database table. Finally build interface by VisualStudio2008 platform and running system on the IIS Web server to realize evaluation function.
