Imaging Sonar system has played an increasing important role in field of the ocean exploitation. Muliple signals of the hydrophone array, however, are needed by which developers design and verify the imaging algorithm of the Imaging Sonar system. To simplify the stablishment of developing environment and lower the system's cost, this Paper studies a signal simulator, which is based on DDS technology, including the hardware platform design and system software implementation.Hardware platform design includes DSP's minimum system for working, DDS's minimum system for working, clock distribution, communication with serial port and signal transmitting circuit. The core components of digital systems consist of the DSP, DDS chips and clock distribution chips, moreover, the output signal types could be set up dynamically. The power supply requirements for hardware platform, this paper designs the system power supply circuits.System software is built up based on the hardware platform, mainly including the DSP software. DSP software includes analyzing the input of selectable code switch, communicating with the PC, controlling the DDSs to produce requisite signal type and scheming distribution of DDS's system clock.Experiments were carried out between the signal resource and the Imaging Sonar system. The result shows that both the hardware circuits and software programs run well and the predefined technological target are fulfilled. At last, the Paper raises any advice, come from the experimental process, to improve the output signal quality.
