Drilling vessel, capable of drilling in deep-sea water, boasting for its self-propulsion and flexibility, is one of the indispensable vessel type among the offshore movable drilling devices.Concentrating on the drilling vessel fabrication as the study object, basing on yard production practice, detailed researches and summaries have been conducted on the block non-excess fabrication, block pre-outfitting application, the procedures of the assembly and erection with the combined methods of the documentary research, information study of the equipment, summary of yard production practice, the theoretical analysis and the contrastive analysis. Sophisticated ship building model and efficient innovation can be gradually realized by improving procedures, enhancing technical quality and upholding the accuracy control.In accordance with research on the offshore project and the experience summaries of the conventional vessel, careful and in-depth investigations with chart and table as detailed explanation have been carried out in term of the key technologies ie, installation procedures of the retractable thruster, MPT and the mud system, which are typical to the drilling vessel. Sophisticated technology have been employed for the installation procedures of the heavy crane, the cable laying and the conventional merchant vessel with flexible application, which facilitating the successful implementation for the drilling vessel and its various performances.System researches have been carried out on the generator test with high voltage and large power, the power system test, sea trial, VMS installation test, drilling system test and ROV operation test, the results of which will render rewarding references to yard for the construction of the whole drilling vessel project.
