As is known to all, low-frequency, high-power transmitter had been the hot point of corresponding researches all over the world. But common low-frequency transducer exist the faults of big volume and heavy weight, given to the actual application in a lot of inconvenience. Accordingly, small size is the problem of the current low-frequency high-power transmitter that must to be solved. Slotted cylinder transducer can realize the low frequency in small size due to its slotted structure which greatly reduce the equivalent stiffness.In this dissertation researches are focus on slotted cylinder transducer. First of all, theoretical analysis methods applicable to slotted cylinder transducer had been introduced. Vibration theory method and Rayleigh method had been closen for theoretical analysis. A new structure of slotted cylinder transducer include a variable cross-section shell had been given, which aims to improve transmission power and ensure the shell under the limit of the structure intensity.Then, finite element analysis software ANSYS had been used for simulation analysis of the transducer. The relationship between the structure parameter and the performance of the transducer had been studied. The prestress and stress distribution of the transducer had been analyzed by means of the contact analysis function of software ANSYS. Eventually, the optimum dimensions had been got according to the results of the analysis above. The resonance frequency of the model in the water is 665Hz, and the peak transmitting voltage response is 126.1dB.Finally, the slotted cylinder transducer had been processed and its impedance characteristic and transmitting voltage response had been measured. The resonance frequency of the transducer is 630 Hz and the transmitting voltage response is 122.2 dB. The results show that the slotted cylinder transducer can operate at low frequency in small size.
