Research And Application Of Mind Mapping In Innovation Of Interior Design

Foundation of design is innovation, originating from human mind. Theinnovation mind in interior design can be obtained by training on designer's mind,and, it is based on the cultivation of innovation mind training.In this paper, firstly the problems of innovation education in current interiordesign have been discussed, followed by the analysis on mind mapping, concludingits memorial advantages, the visible advantages of divergent thinking, knowledgemanagement advantages of coherency and sustainable development advantages ofknowledge accumulation. Thereby this paper has proposed mind mapping as a mind,learning and management tool for potential designers to realize knowledgesustainable development, to construct knowledge system for extensible innovatingdesign and to cultivate innovation divergent thinking. Consequently, the applicationof mind mapping has been interpreted in this paper with case study that how tocombine mind map in accumulating knowledge and stimulating the designinspiration. Meanwhile, this paper has pointed out that to combine with other designmethods for secondary divergent thinking, acquiring and developing innovationthinking to the maximum. Finally, this paper has proposed the method to constructevaluation system and criteria of interior design, to evaluate the results of interiorinnovation design in a better manner.
