GIS is important equipment in the power system, and it is the foundation toensure the reliability of the power supply, if there is a fault, it will definitely causelocal, or all areas of blackout. The main cause of equipment failure is its insulationperformance degradation. Partial discharge is an important sign or form of insulationfault; it is also the important means of online monitoring and evaluating. The mosteffective means to solve the insulation performance degradation problems is onlinemonitoring the insulation situation of operating electric power GIS equipment.GIS partial discharge online monitoring system is based on experience of manyyears of partial discharge measurement, using UHF and AE online monitoringtechnology to monitor and analysis internal partial discharge of electromagneticsignals of GIS equipment, and then monitor and evaluate the GIS equipment'soperation state, effectively avoid sudden accident of GIS high pressure equipment.The system consists UHF sensor system, AE sensor, industrial frequency transducers,signal transmission, and the data acquisition device and the background of dataprocessing, the system monitors partial discharge signals inside the GIS through theUHF, the acquainted signals through the radio frequency cable, will calculate andanalysis the signals collected from the sensors using the high-speed processor, at lastthe final data get into main server processing unit to analysis, records, and give outthe results, and then validate partial discharge and the orientation of partial dischargeby ultrasonic.GIS partial discharge of online monitor system can do real-time monitoring ofoperating GIS patial discharge,can give a early warning in time for GIS insulationabnormal state and discharge fault, provide the necessary guidance data for the normaloperation of GIS, improve the operation reliability, safety and effectiveness of GIS.
