The Issues Of Government Tree Management In Macau

As the world's urbanization accelerating, harmful gases in the atmosphere continue toincrease. Therefore, trees could play a more direct role in social benefits and obviously itis a major role in the field. In addition, growing trees in the city within a certain rangecould purify air; reducing noise, lowering temperature, and landscaping. Macau in recentyears, focus has been put to actively improve the layout of the city towards thedevelopment of green urban park for vision and towards the accomplishment ofinternational garden city. However, compared to other countries or regions, there is a greatspace for developing Macau's management in trees control and protection.This research paper is divided into four parts. The first part is a research of thebackground: a review of domestic and international research on urban tree managementand the core definition of the concept. There second part describes the development of treemanagement in Macau SAR. The content mainly includes tree managing organization, treeprotection laws and regulations, implementation of operational aspects etc. The third partis an analysis of tree management in Macao SAR. By comparing the experience fromdeveloped countries and regions, indicate the existing issues in current development oftree management. The fourth part is a conclusion of the existing issues in currentdevelopment of tree management, giving opinions on the current dilemma of improvingtree management. Therefore trees are under proper protection and healthily grow,providing a pleasant living environment to Macau citizen.This thesis refers with a lot of literature theories and developed management fromother countries, giving Macau SAR the analysis of trees related laws and regulations,management and implementation of operation, and an attempt to find out all the differentcurrent existing problems. It could specifically propose the development of treemanagement starting from the development aspects.
