The Reasarch On The Application Of LOFT Culture In Tianjin Old Industrial Buildings' Transformation

After the reform and opening up, the industrial structure and land structure of our city has been adjusting according to the city's economic rapid development, which has produced a lot of urban industrial wasteland. The reconstruction of the old industrial buildings was an important component of old area renewal of domestic cities in a long time. Big pieces of detruding and rebuilding erase the old mark of the city and bring new faces, but, at the same time, they bring a degree of destruction and waste. How to reduce the negative effects of the urban construction has become a problem of wide range of social concerns.The industrial buildings and facilities left by our predecessors not only interpret the history of Tianjin's industrial development, but also condense the history memories of Tianjin workers. It embodies the protection of Tianjin's history context by protecting its industry remains. Therefore, in the issue of developing, transforming and using of Tianjin's remains, it has become an urgent problem of how to develop a new direction with Tianjin's local characteristic and respecting its history context.In this thesis, by considering the characteristic of old industrial buildings'transformation of LOFT culture, the suitability of LOFT and modern urban sustainable development, depending on the abundant modern industrial remains, we take a comprehensive filed survey and classification, and then summarize the characteristic of Tianjin's old industrial buildings and the distribution of industrial districts. At the same time, we analyze the cases of Tianjin's renovation of old industrial building and point out the opportunity of reuse and the difficulties we faced. By combining the adjustment of Tianjin centre's master plan in recent years and investigate the citizens'demand of industrial zone transformation forms and achievements, we explore the application prospect of LOFT form in the process of Tianjin industrial remains'renovation.This thesis, combining the successful example Tianjin had, explores LOFT culture and the specific transformation strategy of abundant local and westernized old industrial building in Tianjin each period: paying attention to the reserves and sublimate, repositioning its existence in modern city and creating a road of transformation with culture and economy. From the angle of architecture, we research and summarize the design procedures and construction technology during the old industrial architecture's renovation, which is indigenous, scientific and cultural. Aiming at the reuse of old industrial building and the revitalization of old industrial building which deserve keeping in Tianjin, we put forward some corresponding strategies and suggestions.
