With the development of avionics, the traditional MIL-STD-1553B bus has become an obstacle to the development of modern avionics system, so there is an urgent need to develop a higher rate, higher stability bus system to meet the needs of the avionics system . However, the new bus system must be compatible with the traditional MIL-STD-1553B equipment to achieve the smooth improvement of the avionics system. FC-AE-1553 bus not only realize the compatibility to MIL-STD-1553B but also achieve a improvement in performance, which will be the direction of the new generation avionics bus system. This thesis completes the FC-AE-1553 Bridge Module, which realizes the compatibility between FC-AE-1553 bus and 1553B bus.This thesis analyzes the Fibre Channel protocol family, and educing the necessary protocols to achieve the bridge. In accordance with the FC protocols and the technical requirements of the program, the thesis brings forward the overall design scheme. And it discusses the scheme of the key hardware and FPGA implementations in detail.This thesis brings forward the overall designed scheme of the bridge in hardware interface circuit and the formation of SOPC system programs. In the design of hardware circuit, it achieves FC-0 layer's photoelectric conversion, parallel-to-serial conversion and the MIL-STD-1553B's data interface. In FPGA design, it achieves the SOPC system. And it achieves FC-AE-1553 interface module and 1553B interface module, which are the most important interface module components. The FC-AE-1553 interface module achieves the 8B/10B encoding and decoding, port state machines, the FC-AE-1553 frame transfering and receiving and flow control. The 1553B interface module main achieves the BC function of the MIL-STD-1553B bus system. In order to meet the design requirements for dual-redundancy, this system uses two same module components in the design. In the software design of the NIOSâ…ˇprocessor, it gives the software's scheme according to the working flow of the bridge module, achieving login, protocol mapping, dual-redundancy control and so on. Login achieves the fabric login and N-port login mainly, the protocol mapping achieves the mapping between FC-AE-1553 frame and 1553B word mainly, And the dual-redundancy improves the system's reliability. Finally, comprehensive testing and performance analysis are conducted. Using Qlogic's fabric switch Sanbox5600 and Excalibur System company's Simulation card EXC-1553PCI/MCH, it builds a fabric network to test the performance of the bridge module. Testing results show that the functionality and technical specifications of FC-AE-1553 bridge module meet the design requirements.
