Construct And Present The Traditional Image In Chinese Contemporary Architectural Design

With the development of market economy, many architectural works which have the fashion form but lack of culture appear in contemporary China, and they make people shines but you can not root out their inner meaning. Ignoring the tradition can be regarded as one of the reasons. In recent years, a group of local architects who turn to local traditional culture, draw inspiration from the traditional culture and design many of the works through the combination of traditional and modern techniques which were unanimously praised.In this paper, this approach is defined as the traditional image design, that is, through the grasp of traditional culture images, traditional culture concept is introduced in the architectural design in order to find modern design and traditional culture of a dialogue. Research of the traditional image design will make sense in development of the architecture, especially in the current architectural environment. On how to use the technique of the traditional image design and how to present the traditional image in contemporary building, will be the focus of this paper. This paper will divide into five chapters to research.Chapter one which is an introduction, describes the background, meaning, object, content and related research survey of the paper and is expected to provide a basis for the following studies.Chapter two as the time development for clues, summarizes the process of exploring in the traditional image design with the actual cases. This process including the traditional mimetic, symbolic transformation, culture metaphor and space sublimation four main stages. Space sublimation is the key stages of contemporary architectural development .Chapter three by the method of case analysis, through bottom-up approach, from a subjective experience to objective analysis, interprets the architectural woks includingWanke Fifth Park, Suzhou Museum and Ningbo Museum which in three types of events. Interpretation focuses on the use and manifestations of traditional image in those works, and how to achieve with people through the exchange of psychology.Chapter four uses comparative inductive method and combines with other cases about the traditional image design, from the concept, image presentation, space construction and construction materials to summary the methods of using the traditional image design. Chapter five introduces the special training in the traditional image design in Huazhong University of Science and Technology and proposes to strengthen the training will help students develop thinking and design methods more familiar.
