Space and form have dominated architecture for a long time. Nowadays, surfaces have great currency in contemporary architecture. Architects use materials in innovative ways as never before make materials coruscate the time spirit. At the same time, many new materials and construction ways are used in design of architecture surfaces, which increase the forms of architecture and the feelings of people distinctly. In the architecture which is dominated by surfaces, the remarkable element is not space and form but homogeneous surfaces. Nowadays, surfaces show the presentation and logicality at the same time. Designs the surface in logical ways make it present the character of architecture and people feel beauty. The development and application of modern materials and technology as a foundation for surfaces showing the presentation and logicality at the same time. The paper researches the surfaces from the relation between presentation and logicality (tectonic). Discuss the relations of form and materials, constitutions and construction of architecture. In this paper, author look back the history of construction mode of architecture surfaces, then the different forms caused by different materials and constitutions are discussed. At last, the author carried out analysis and consideration about the techniques of construction, presentation based logicality involved in the thesis, and put forward the viewpoint of opposing subjective set up. And, combined with experimental architects of contemporary Chinese architecture practice, pointing out that some of the actual operation on the ambiguity and limitations of the tectonic concept. I hope these analyses for Chinese architects in building presentation based logicality in the practice must have some significance.
