Crashworthiness analysis is important point to civil aircraft design. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been conducting drop tests since the late 1980's to determine the impact responses of aircraft structures under severe but survivable crash conditions. The knowledge learned in each drop test, however, is limited to one specific test condition. The prohibitively high cost of time and money on conducting actual impact tests makes it necessary to develop a modeling and simulation capability which costs less and may be used to study numerous issues in detail to determine the influence of airframe structure design details on crashworthiness.Drop test is an important point in aircraft crashworthiness design and analysis, Which in FAR and CCAR are necessary. In this study, a structurally realistic finite element model of a civil aircraft fuselage section is developed and then crashworthiness simulation are conducted. The simulation is under the same condition with the drop test of the B737-100 fuselage section which was conducted by FAA. Comparing the simulation data of deformations of fuselage structure and acceleration-time histories with the test, the correctness of simulation was determined and the dynamic response was all got. Then the effect of luggage, initial velocity when fuselage section contact ground, and the roll angle of fuselage section were also examined. This analysis are helpful to the design and analysis of civil aircraft.
