Checking line is one of the most important step in overhauling the circuit of the electrical system equipments .At present we often check line by using the multimeter and interphone. The method wastes time and human labor and has a high error rate. It also has a restriction to the wireless communication where a lot of high frequency equipments exit. According to the practical needs we design a muti-function line checker which is controlled by microcomputer. It contains a host computer and a slave computer which are all displayed by liquid crystal. There is a Chinese menu in the host and it can choose function menu through keyboard. We can input line numbers and check lines with this line checker equipment. It also can store the line numbers when the power is off. We can have a wired talking with this equipment. It can also have a indication for short-circuit of lines. It works accurately and rapidly. Through it we can complete the task by only one person. The host has 16 test ports and the slave computer contains one test port. We located the host at one end and the slave computer at another end of the test lines when we use it. Then we connect the wires as across the operating instruction, if the test condition is meeting there will be corresponding display which tells you the connection information and there will be also some instruction by indicator light and buzzer. The host and the slave computer will all display the line number which is connected by the test line. At the same time we can also use one known line for wired talking if we connect it correctly. The maximum test distance is 1000 kilometers.
